Payment notes
On 8 October 1991, the Bank of Slovenia issued provisional payment notes, placing them into circulation as a temporary currency. In September 1992, the first tolar banknotes were placed into circulation, followed by coins in January 1993.
Payment notes may be exchanged at the Bank of Slovenia for an unlimited time.
