Prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT)

Despite the introduction of the Single Supervisory Mechanism in 2014, the area of prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT) at banks remains the responsibility of the national authorities.

Conducting supervision in this area remains one of the Bank of Slovenia’s key tasks, and reviewing risk management in the area of AML/CFT is part of the process of reviewing comprehensive risk management at banks and savings banks. The Bank of Slovenia carries out certain activities in the area of AML/CFT in conjunction with the Office for Money Laundering Prevention.

The Bank of Slovenia issues annual reports to the National Assembly and to the public on its activities and plans in the area of AML/CFT:

The information obtained or compiled by the Bank of Slovenia in its supervision of AML/CFT at an individual bank or savings bank is confidential, and the Bank of Slovenia may not comment on it.
