Tolar interest rates until 2006
The Bank of Slovenia defined interest rates for monetary policy instruments until its entry in the euro area. Monetary policy implementation was based mostly on instruments that were connected with maintaining stable exchange rate, providing and absorbing the liquidity and controlling the transformation of short term banks' sources.
Short-term money market interest rates were following the movement of key interest rates of the Bank of Slovenia. Furthermore, interest rates for tolar deposits and loans were adjusting to the levels of interest rates of the Bank of Slovenia.
