EU banknote collection
To mark the signing of Slovenia’s agreement on full membership of the European Union in Athens in April 2003, the Bank of Slovenia issued banknotes for 10,000 tolars, 1,000 tolars and 100 tolars that have a special gold feature on the left side of the portrait: “2004” written vertically, with the final numeral being transformed over five stages into a five-pointed star.
On 26 May this year, 500 sets of all three banknotes were made for collectors. The remaining banknotes (500 10,000 tolar notes, 4,500 1,000 tolar notes and 9,500 100 tolar notes) were released into circulation.
