Decisions adopted by the Governing Board on 4 December 2007

- At today's meeting the Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia was briefed on current economic and financial developments and economic indicators from the international environment.
- The Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia discussed turbulence in financial markets and the high growth of bank loans and made the decision to adopt a resolution on increasing the weighting of necessary capital for banks which are exposed to loans to companies established for the acquisition of target companies.
- The Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia will recommend that banks increase their profit reserves from the 2007 financial year and assess the credit worthiness of customers which borrow in foreign currencies under conditions valid for the domestic currency.
- The Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia was briefed on the Government's proposed change to the Banking Act and suggested a change to the proposed new act such that it will only refer to acquisition-related lending.
- The Governing Board of the Bank of Slovenia also adopted the following regulations:
a. Regulation on the Reporting of Data for the Purpose of Financial Accounts Statistics
b. Regulation on the Issue of Collector Coins for Sale and Circulation to Mark the Presidency of the European Union, and
c. Regulation on the Issue of Collector Coins for Sale and Circulation to Mark the 250th Anniversary of the Birth of Valentin Vodnik.
