Awards for three master's and one doctoral dissertation
This year once again Banka Slovenije has awarded prizes for the best dissertations by students in the field of finance. Out of sixteen dissertations applying, the selection committee chose three best master’s and one best doctoral dissertations.
Prizes of EUR 1,500 for master’s dissertations were presented to Jan Drab, Špela Rozman and Klara Žbontar, and prize of EUR 3,000 for doctoral dissertation was presented to Darja Zabavnik.
Banka Slovenije has been awarding prizes since 1992 with objective to promote research work. Including this year’s winners, more than 300 students have won prizes so far.
The latest winners were congratulated by the Governor of Banka Slovenije, Boštjan Vasle, who also took the opportunity to thank them for their contribution to economic knowledge.
Recipients of this year’s prizes:
Jan Drab for the dissertation The value of sell-side analysts' recommendations in active portfolio management under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Igor Lončarski of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana.
Špela Rozman for the dissertation Misalignment indicator between the fundamental and market value for Slovenian commercial real estate under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Andreja Cirman of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana.
Klara Žbontar for the dissertation The impact of pandemic policy measures on credit activity and the real economy in the Euro area during the Covid-19 crisis under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Igor Masten of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana.
Darja Zabavnik for the dissertation The Effects Of Financial Frictions On The Real Economy And Fiscal Dynamics under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Miroslav Verbič of the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana.
