Governor at informal meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council
Governor Boštjan Vasle today attended the informal meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) in Paris.
At the afternoon session ministers and central bank governors from the EU27 discussed the economic and monetary policy that the European economy needs for strong growth after the pandemic, and on the role of the financial sector within this framework. Given the current situation in Ukraine, part of the discussion was also devoted to the introduction of economic sanctions against Russia.
Alongside the informal ECOFIN meeting, Mr Vasle was also a guest at the Eurofi 2022 international financial forum, which took place in Paris between 23 and 25 February. Together with his fellow governors from Austria, Ireland, Greece, Latvia and Croatia, he took part in a panel discussion on the highly relevant subject of Normalizing monetary policy in Europe: challenges and way forward against the threat of stagflation.
