Results of tender for designing additional issues of occasional coins for 2022, change of events to be marked in 2022 and determination of events to be marked in 2023

In the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 58/22 the government of the Republic of Slovenia published a Decree determining to mark the following events by issuing additional collector coins in 2022:

  • national holiday, Day of Slovenian Sport and
  • 90th anniversary of birth dr. Jože Pučnik.

Banka Slovenije published a tender for designing drafts of additional issues of occasional coins to be issued in 2022 on May 27 2022. Tender was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 74/22 and on the Banka Slovenije's web page. By the end of the tender on June 20 2022 we received 8 drafts for collector coins to mark national holiday, Slovenian sports day and 13 drafts for collector coins to mark 90th anniversary of birth dr. Jože Pučnik.

The Commission for issuing occasional coins, established by the Banka Slovenije and Ministry of finance, decided not to award first prize in both projects due to poorer quality of received drafts. For designing collector coins to mark national holiday, Day of Slovenian Sport the following drafts are awarded:

  1. prize (€1.500)  for draft with code KM133G – authors: Mojca Mlinar in Dominik Košak;
  2. prize (€1.000) for draft with code LEON1 – author: Tevž Zrinski.

For collector coins to mark 90th anniversary of birth dr. Jože Pučnik the following drafts are awarded:

  1. prize (€1.500) for draft with code 145ZZ5 – authors: Mojca Mlinar in Dominik Košak;
  2. prize (€1.000) for draft with code RS9132 – authors: Daniela Vidmar Podboj in Tomaž Podboj.

 

On July 28 2022 the government of the Republic of Slovenia published two decrees regarding events to be marked by issuing occasional coins (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, No. 103/22). With Decree amending the Decree determining events to be marked by issuing occasional coins in 2022 it determined occasional coins to mark national holiday, Day of Slovenian Sport and 90th anniversary of birth of dr. Jože Pučnik will not be issued in 2022. Furthermore with the Decree determining events to be marked by issuing occasional coins in 2023 it determined the following events will be marked in 2023:

  • 150th anniversary of birth of Josip Plemelj, marked by commemorative coin,
  • 110th anniversary of birth of Boris Pahor, marked by collector coins, and
  • national holiday, Day of Slovenian Sport, marked by collector coins.
